onetwothree

Yesterday I had been to a waterpark in kalyan with my cousins and their kids, husbands, etc. Shangrila waterpark is an awesome place for kids and all. There are many slides, games, etc.

There was one slide that I kept enjoying many times. On my 3rd time of using that slide, a little girl (around 8 yrs) sat beside me and positioned herself to slide down to meet her parents waiting down. Her mom was shouting "leave that handle beside you and slide..ok beta?". She nodded. She looked at me. I looked at her and smiled and signalled that her mom was waiting for her at the end of the slide and so she didnt worry about the level of difficulty of the slide. Her mom again said "chalo beta.". That little girl still couldn't gather the courage to slide down. And all of a sudden, I turned to her and said "One, two and three!!!". And then she left the handle and slid down the slide to meet her anxious mom. Upon reaching down, that little girl looked at me and smiled. That smile conveyed many things.

The point is that for most of the times in life, we do need a person who can say "One, two and three" for us. That person could be our teacher, friend, sister, colleague, stranger, anybody. I have personally met such people and one can find their names in the "Acknowledgements" section in both my books - "In Their Shoes..." and  "LOSER-Life Of a Software EngineeR".
One has to be lucky to meet such people and I am lucky. I hope everyone finds a person/persons who can motivate you by saying "One, Two and Three".
